There is studies in Hong Kong shows that seniors who plays Mahjong all the time can help their brain flexible and can help reduce Alzheimer

    Seniors are encouraged to do exercises that involve different parts of the brain to help keep them mentally fit. Mahjong would be one, also crossword puzzles or other word games.

    And some studies have shown that intellectually stimulating exercises can have a protective effect against Alzheimer’s disease.

    there has been a lot of study that show anything to keep the brain active can slow / reduce the onset of Alzheimers, such as puzzles, games, reading, even a short walk can help

    It is possible. However, exercise is another good way.

    regular mental activity develops the brain and keeps it fit… can be anything actually… mahjong or crosswords doesn’t make difference

    there are better things for them to do than mahjong to prevent alzheimer.
