Why does my vision get fuzzy when I play solitaire or mahjong on-line?

This doesn’t happen when I’m working in Word or Excel. It usually clears up after about 40 minutes or so. Am I doing permanent damage to my eyes?

I do the same on some games and I think it’s because the mahjong tiles are small. maybe you aren’t blinking

Your eyes are probably tired. You should take a break every hour and look at something far away for a couple of minutes. The muscles that adjust the lens in your eye is getting tired.

WELL ITS EITHER YOU PLAY TOO MUCH OR THE MOVEMENT ON THE SCREEN OR YOU NEED GLASSES

It probably happens because you are concentrating harder on the screen. Just look away for a bit when it starts to happen and you should be fine. If it really concerns you talk to your eye doctor about it next time you go.

I can’t answer as to whether or not you are doing permanent damage (I highly doubt it), but I can answer the reason that your vision goes blurry. The same thing happens to me from time to time. The muscle the pull my eyes inward (cross-eyed) are stronger than the ones that pull them outward. When I relax too much, or strain my eye muscles for too long, my vision will go slightly blurry. If your vision is taking forty minutes to correct itself, you should probably see your optimitrist. Hope that was helpful!

the images on a computer screen are “hard” or “fixed” images. Staring at the screen for long periods of time can damage your eyes. Give you eyes a break by looking out the window for 5 minutes every hour. Good luck
